Just don't talk politics or religion and I"ll welcome you as a friend...I always have a "white mans fire" going.. you know what that is...."white mans fire.... heat both sides of canyon".....Hope to make it this year if I can... can't let Burson be there without someone to give him shit about being retired....

So Rob's campfire ring will be the "Hot Air" section and Butch's will be the "Not So Hot Air" section? :D

Oh yeah...... You think we'll need a referee for the "Hot Air" fire ring??

I won't be there this year, it is my 25th wedding anniversary and I am taking my wife to Hawaii where we went on our honey moon. Butch will have to pick on some other retired guy.

Oh man! Sorry to hear you won't be there Rob! Ummm...I think you need to read the Caveman 2012 thread and take some notes about giving her her day on another day. Better yet, take her to HI like I am earlier in the year, then bring her with you to JC!

Nice. We are doing the North Shore Marathon on Oahu in mid April. Oh, and it ends up, Rob was joking. So we will still have a dinner bell!

Re: 2012 Annual Summer Fly-in at Johnson Creek, ID

Well, I can't wait. Unless work gets in the way, I'll def be there with my old girl the Aero Commander 520.

Couple of questions that might seem silly perhaps:

1. I'm sure beers are welcome. Do people normally sell cans, or is it strictly bartering/trading or just plain giving?
2. Do I bring my own food, or can I count on buying food there?
3. Anything else I should bring that could be useful?

1.It is better to give than receive, especially if you already have a beer open.
2.Yes to both, you can hitch a ride into Yellow Pine and buy food or you can bring your own.
(Bringing your own would probably be higher quality than what you would find at the store)
3. Yes...Ice for the BEER!

Hello stratobee:
Normally more alcohol than we can consume, and good stuff too. We usually have a Alcohol Buffet, bring something unique from your area. Wine, beer, or distilled, it doesn't matter. Then we share on Saturday starting when we get back from breakfast all the way through the Saturday night potluck.

You know about the potluck, right? You need something. Hot or cold. Bring or take the van to town [Yellow Pine] We get some gourmet food, so if you are into one up's manship have at it. We go to McCall for gas and there is a large grocery/sporting store across the street.

I bring an umbrella and rubber farmer boots. A pop up or tarp with rope and tie downs. PC. JC has wi-fi

Hope this helps. Please introduce yourself when you see me. W/R Maule on 29s 321TL

I will be flying out of Grants Pass, OR. I have been lurking for years here and can't wait to meet everyone. Any caravans out of Oregon that I could link up with?

There will be a few planes leaving from MMV, not sure of the dates yet.

If you both head for Idaho from Portland and Grants Pass, you won't cross routes until you reach the Idaho border. :D

There are other southern Oregon guys, I'm sure they'll chime in sooner or later.
