I left a voicemail with Ladd and sent text messages to osoloco and coyoteugly who are in the area and whose phones may pick up messages when the are in the air. I'll try some others as well. At least he is on the ground safe and sound!

Hey guys:

I just heard from grassstrippilot. Mountain Matt got to Canyonlands and helped him. All is OK and they are on their way back to Caveman.

Thanks to all for the help.

You're never too old to learn something stupid.

Re: 2013 Caveman Ranch Luau fly-in - May 24-26

Thanks everyone. A few weeks back I starting putting together a trip saver kit. Wouldn't you know it the two things I needed were what I haven't yet gotten! Luckily the mechanic at Redtail lent me his. Still not sure what caused the issue but will be pulling the data and taking a look. Thanks to Matt for escorting us back to Caveman and Kevin and Ryan for the offers of help on the ground. A great group of people we've got here!

We got home an hour or so ago. All ran normally all the way to Caveman last night and home today.

Thanks everyone for the great weekend. It was good to catch up with you all and to try out the new ride in the backcountry. We loved it and I loved the new wheels! Pics and vids to come.

It was great to see everyone! Just home in record time... :^o

Bucked a 30knt headwind the whole way. What a great time! Just counted the planes in one of my pics and came up with 52 but I know there were more given that maybe 10-15 planes were in the air at the time of the photo. Winds were up but not an issue really. I took over 400 photos...Those will be posted in the photo thread shortly.

Thanks to the Caveman crew and Gary (Shortfielder) for all of their efforts! This is one fly in I will not ever miss! Nothing like landing in the bottom of some of these canyons or ever better yet up on the rim.

Photos coming...

Thanks to you and piperpainter for the detailed winds aloft forecast from XM on 122.9, I selected my optimum altitude and your 30kt kick in the teeth was my 30 kt kick in the seat! WooHoo!

Hi All
just came back from the Fly In. First Timer. I had a great time and I enjoyed flying my Bearhawk into those Poker Run airstrips . Met a lot of nice people and I guess I will be back next year. Thanks to all who made this possible and thanks to those who helped to keep those airstrips open. :D :D :D :D
