Our debate would not be about guns. I own and use guns. I fought for your right to bear firearms.

Our debate would be about considering other people and our impact on them. I think we should be able to do most anything as long as it does not negatively impact others when it is not necessary.

Unlike the Nevada desert, these canyons echo sounds very efficiently. If you are right next to the river, you may not hear the sounds of guns but if you are not next to the river, you will.

Many times there are people that camp near the north end of the runway.
People that live or camp in the canyon probably will not go to the effort to complain but that does not mean they will like it.

The debate is not about guns it is about considering others and with you it looks like I am wasting my time so I will say no more.

Not like to find that on a flying website.

It's my right to blast music all night long in the campground, or run a loud generator, but I'm just not that kind of guy.

LONG TERM...SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY...AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL MOVE INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST ON SATURDAY. A COLD FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL MOVE THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING/EARLY SUNDAY...WHICH WILL HELP TO TRIGGER THUNDERSTORMS WITH GUSTY WINDS MAINLY IN SE OREGON AND NORTHERN MOUNTAIN ZONES. GUSTY WINDS WILL ALSO OCCUR WITH FRONTAL PASSAGE...AND BEHIND THE FRONT ON SUNDAY. A COOL AND UNSETTLED PATTERN WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK...AS A SERIES OF WEAK DISTURBANCES MOVE THROUGH THE FLOW...WITH THE CWA REMAINING DRY AS MODELS INDICATING THESE DISTURBANCES WILL REMAIN TO THE NORTH. MODELS INDICATING RIDGE REBUILDING OVER THE CENTRAL US EARLY TO MIDWEEK FOR A REBOUND IN TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE REGION...BEFORE A WEAK DISTURBANCE MOVES TO THE NORTH OF THE REGION LATE IN THE WEEK.

I'm optimistic. It's a weak disturbance and it's 7 days away. :)

Z,

Put me down for an XL BCP Gortex windbreaker... ;-)

I guess I better make sure the rain-fly is in the bottom of the tent stuff sack.

John, I'll bring the windproof lighter to insure proper ignition of the stogies...

Headed out through the Black Hills on Sunday Morning, Devls Tower, Cody WY, etc. Don't know exactly where in MT and ID we will go depending on weather. Will make every effort to make JC on Friday or Saturday. Must be home by Monday.
Will pray for good weather, good fishing for my companions, and good times for all. :D

Ouch, That weather report is not something I like to see. I'm waiting for Johan to finish the VG. and patroller doors and planning to fly up to McCAll Saturday morning. I plan on taking Lori's mountain training course. Maybe I should stay here until Sunday, Monday to see if they will cancel the training session???
Decisions , Decisions, why can't life be simple just some of the time :x
any inputs or suggestions always appreciated.

The weather people are wrong much of the time. I am predicting a beautiful weekend at JC.

There will be a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. There will be good landings and one or two not so good landings. I may be one of those one or two.

Let us all stay positive.

This summer so far has been pretty dynamic with the weather and the accuracy/severity of the forecasts. Forecasts change dramatically all the time. Best you can to is just keep track of it and read the discussions to get an idea of what's coming, if it's a factor, and how long it's going to last. We're still a week out.

Agreed! I called MC Call and the course doesn't start until Tuesday so it just a matter of where the flying is better. I can always practice with the new VG's here in Caldwell until the weather really does what it is going to do.
At least that will keep me busy. This waiting around for 3 days has me tempted to go see the Birds of Prey? Flyer did you ever take the BOP in as a curiosity stop?

I have not been there. If it were me, I would fly up to McCall. It is a beautiful place if you have not been there. You could also stop at Cascade.
It might be fun to practice with your new VGs.

I have a grass strip about an hour north of McCall if you would care to visit.

I will see you at JC next weekend.

Sojorrn,

It won't keep you too busy. VG's are pretty easy to get used to. Maybe a bit more float and you'll have to be ready for your Maule to fly sooner than it used to on T.O. I would be more concerned if somebody was removing VG's and needed some practice. Your going to love 'em... :)

See, the long term fx has changed already since this morning 8)

NWS Boise wrote:.LONG TERM...SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY...THE REGION REMAINS BETWEEN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OVER THE SOUTHWESTERN U.S. AND UPPER LEVEL LOW OFF THE WESTERN CANADIAN COAST THROUGH MUCH OF THE EXTENDED PERIOD. MODELS SHOWING THE UPPER RIDGE PLAYING MORE OF FACTOR THAN THE LOW. THEREFORE...THE SERIES OF WEAK SHORTWAVES MOVING THROUGH THE FLOW MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY WILL REMAIN NORTH KEEPING OUR CWA DRY. TEMPERATURES WILL GRADUALLY WARM THROUGH WEDNESDAY REACHING THE LOW 90S BY TUESDAY. MODELS INDICATE A WEAK TROUGH MOVING INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THURSDAY/FRIDAY WITH SOME VARIATION IN TIMING. TROUGH LOOKS DRY AS MOISTURE TAP REMAINS FURTHER NORTH WITH STRONG UPPER LEVEL LOW. THE CWA LOOKS TO REMAIN PRECIPITATION FREE THROUGH THE EXTENDED FORECAST.

Does the golf cource rent clubs? I don't fish but I might be able to play a round.

I would be up for a round of golf on Saturday. I did not know the store had the items needed for a game. Do they provide helmets for when I hit the tree with the ball and it wants to come back at a rapid pace?
Might be fishing Saturday so golf would be second choice. Went to the open 3 days last week and saw Tiger do something that might help my game so I thought I might try it at Yellow Pine since the course is suited to my game. :roll: I immagine You, John, are a dangerous man with a golf club. =;
