There are also a few tent sites in the group camp area near the fence that overlooks the creek.
Riding into town with random people in those vans is part of the fun.
Just a reminder to everyone to search for and read the several Johnson Creek threads we have in the forum. There's some interesting info in there about approaches and what not to do. Read some suggestions
here for those going into JC for the first time. Also, read the
Berk Snow accident thread.
I have not personally operated an aircraft into or out of JC, but I am lucky to have flown in and out of there a few times with jmtgt, Strata, and N6EA. Knowing what to expect, and being along for the ride when someone does it properly goes a long way I think.
It's going to be a great time if the weather is good. If the weather all goes to crap, or the forecast is looking bleak, we can discuss alternatives or rescheduling. No reason to have people out trying to get to JC in crap weather.
