Zane, I see on the Maule site that 10 are pretty sure they'll be there although I don't know how many responded there and here also... Anyway looks like a good bunch will be tied down on the line that weekend....

It's all the clean living. Except for a cigar every 25 years. John, I sure liked that canyon surfing we did, that's a real natural high.

Cheers...Rob

I stand corrected. Congratulations Rob, now you have room for a tent.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Is there such a thing as a schedule of events for Johnson Creek?

I can't make the BC or super cub weekends as I will be in Alaska, but was thinking I could stop on the way home around July 4th maybe.

Would anyone know if it is too crazy or busy then?

thanks,
John

The 180/185's have a weekend scheduled in there somewhere. You might check their web site. You don't want to be there that weekend. If you do go during their fly in you MAY find a parking spot on the other side of the field at one of the ends.

Iceman, thanks. You are right, they do, so I won't be stopping there!

I went to that when I had a C180 about 15 years ago. I was still an outsider to them. I couldn't imagine how they'd treat a guy in a scout. John

will be first time to Johnson Creek Fly-In

This will be our first time to Johnson Creek and to the mountains in a small aircraft for that matter. Will be traveling from North Dakota. Interested in some advice for this field as well as general mountain flying advice. Also interested in some options for an overnight stop enroute.

I was there with my lowly tripacer one year and it was as though I had the plague or something. THey parked wherever they pleased and tromped through your campsite and were generally a noisy and unfriendly bunch. I will say though that I'm sure there are some in the group that are genuinely nice and friendly. But for the most part it was "It's all about Us"!!!! < and screw you!!

I'd like to donate a couple door prizes for Zane to dole out as he sees fit.

Best wishes,

Guys, even if you don't get an email notification of a new message, just click on "Private Messages" in the upper right hand corner to check your Inbox. Sometimes the notification emails get caught by spam blockers.

If you turn your pop up blocker off for www.backcountrypilot.org, a little window will pop up when you get a new message when you check the website forum.

Great!!! I take a Large. I'll be flying an A320 from JFK to SLC, then from Utah to JC in a C-182. Does that count??? :?

If only. But I tell you what, you could sure make that into one hell of an RV if you gutted it out and remodeled the interior. But I have a feeling that the neighbors wouldn't appreciate the APU running when I needed to use the microwave to make my popcorn for the movie on the flatscreen. Sees being I'm going to have to take a loan out to fly the 182 up there, I think I'd have to morgage the house to gas it up. And that would only get me one way!

I think this is the video.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_EM0hDchVlY&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_EM0hDchVlY&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Wow, this new fly by wire is cool. Practically flies it's self. Joe, which button do I push to make this thing go up.

I'm not sure, let me get the owners manual.

Where did we put that book?

Damn, this sucks.
