Just wanted to remind any of you who might be flying in the canyon from Moab to Caveman. There are 3 places where power lines cross the canyon that I am aware of. 1 up by Moab, near the entrance to the canyon, another a little farther into the canyon, and another where power lines come across the river to the pot ash mine, a couple miles up river from the Caveman Ranch.

Hey Dawg
Never too late for having fun, but really deserves more time spent for the effort givven to get there. But, I guess anytime is better than none.
I will be there Fri. AM., maybe even Thurs.

I'm pretty sure it's never to late for fun. Just make sure you print out and mail in the waiver asap. Might want to print out a copy and bring it with you just in case.

Everyone put in a request for good weather.

Hey everyone,

We are trying to get our meal planning done for next week and were wondering what the verdict was on the dinner after the poker run. There had been some talk about a BBQ up at Mack Mesa and then some talk about ending the poker run with dinner at Caveman. Is the dinner at Caveman everyone one on their own? And then the BBQ is a lunch thing that was being offered up at Mack Mesa?

Thanks for the clarification.

Cory, I think we're doing dinner back at Caveman just because we didn't want everyone getting stuck (due to wx or lack of light) at Mack Mesa without their belongings. From my understanding, the Mack Mesa is a separate fly-in but they were inviting us BCPers to attend.

For now the plan is just tentative and we'll solidify things Sat morning when we can gauge the weather and who's going.

It wouldn't make much sense to me to fly to Gateway (Canyons)for lunch from Caveman then back track to the strips for the poker hands, then Mack Mesa, and back to Caveman. But, if it what anyone wants to do, thats fine. Gateway and Mack mesa are pretty close to have lunch, then run to Mack and wait for the BBQ.

If we have hi afternoon winds, we'll do the poker run in the morning.

I don't want to get a situation where people go to Mack for dinner BBQ and are not comfortable flying back to camp, and are stuck at Mack, or flying in conditions they are uncomfortable with.

Personally, I would like the poker run end at caveman so we can celebrate the day with drinks and dinner, and be done flying. Wx may be a factor, so may just wait and see what is going on at the time.

I will put the cards out on Friday, and have a plan by Sat.

Most people will probablyonly have one day for flying. Getting the on Fri, flying Sat., and leaving Sun.

We could have a horshoe match Fri. afternoon/evening for the early birds. Rod is talking about doing a little dinner Fri. night.

And there will be the usual ass woopin on the pool table that night

This being said, I would suggest you have a plan B for dinner, incase Mack doesn't work for ya. I will plan it for the last stop in the poker run so that if ya want a burger, it will be later in the day, if we do it in the afternoon. Gateway will also be a stop and you can get groceries there.

If you have limited space and would prefer not to carry cooking gear, that will be fine. I am sure there will be plenty available.

Dogs/kids are fine, just need to be kept in their cages.
They have dogs, and they are fine with others. They just want them to be kept track of/restrained. so they aren't bothering others, or get in the way of any planes/props, etc.
