Thanks guys! :D

Okay does someone know how to upload a PDF file?

If you print the picture "To Fit" on landscape and then fold it you'll have a kneeboard format document! I know lots of people liked having that last year. If you want a PDF file so you can upload it to foreflight then someone please let me know how to upload those here....or give me your email and you can upload it!

I adjusted the picture/document to show the actual N/E/W instead of "landing east direction/west!"

Enjoy and if you have questions please let us know!

Sorry Bryan! I admit, I was a sheep. I followed Kevin's lead in the previous post, so I was unduly influenced! :D

I just save the image on my iPad. But a PDF would be nice. Do you use Dropbox? If so, you could create a shared folder and post the link here. If you don't, email me the PDF and I'll do it.

Thanks again!

Ok, give this a try. I'm doing it on my iPad via the app. If it doesn't work. I'll try it again from the full site.

Guys,
I received an email from Kevin via the 180/185 Club about this event and it showed a different map than the one shown here.

They posted last years info but thats ok. Same runway. We have multiple radios on in the event anyone does not see this years and are operating on different freqs. Etc.

I know of a lot of folks coming that are not on any of these forums and will have last years details. We will be on top of it for certain.

Also just a message from the folks at STOL magazine. They are coming to document the event.

Kevin, do you think that there's a point where too many attendees will spoil the quality of the fly-in?

Re: 5th Annual High SIerra Fly-in Oct 10-12, 2014

I think at some point it may get to big but then we just move it to a larger lake bed like Black Rock that could hold 10,000 planes. Last year we had total 87 planes over the weekend. Lets see if we even break that number. I am the eternal optimist however and would like to see 500 planes in the desert. Just not at this lake bed if that was to be. If we get 100 planes this year awesome! I doubt very seriously we will get 100 at one time. And if we do, awesome. Folks only saw a 1/4 of the options to fly last year. This year I am hoping to take people north and east to places that have yet to be seen by most. Also south. So many options. Heck the tight little canyons in Idaho and 150 planes at JC...we are not even close to that...But again as said, I am the eternal optimist.

With so many activities to do around camp and lake bed we are going to blow it out this year and maybe re-asses for next year in the event we get a lot of folks and the continued interest. For now I am confident we are just fine.

We have added a movie night this year for Saturday night and it looks like we will have 4 go carts for races giving folks more options during the mid day but we will see if they can make it work to come out. T-shirts are being made, tannerite is in a safe place and the cow were are going to eat is still grazing.... Looking forward to it!

There is another nearby dry lake bed that could be awesome! But not nearly as secluded. On another note. I changed the main freq so that it wouldn't conflict with anything nearby. This year is going to be good I think. Just gotta be safe cause im sure that the guys that are "just here to help" could try and come play.

Made a trip today out to 3SGS and a few other spots on that circuit. The lake bed is in great shape! The rains have nocked down the dust and the playa is concrete smooth.

Getting close!

My Kitfox felt alone last year. Good to hear that you and your Kitfox and others are coming.

Kevin
For the "slow pokes" any chance you could give us bearing and distance from 3 Shotgun Shells to the fly out strips?
Thanks for your efforts.

I'll be there...unfortunately sans family most likely. Adam has school until Friday afternoon. So, probably another guy's weekend out.

Flew to the lake today! Here are a few pictures

The runways is in great condition. In fact it may be even longer than we thought. But we will just let you see when you get there. If 100ft more makes the difference for you then you might be happy. Anyway here are some pictures. Oh don't go in with too much fuel.....there is fuel right down the road!

As we stated we take off to the East the most. And while it looks like there are hills...there is about 100ft of climbing and then you can pretty much stay level as it drops into a valley.
