Re: HSF - Oct 10-12, 2014 **KCXP FUEL DISCOUNT! UPDATED 9/21

I am looking like a go as long as the weather on the Sierras holds out. I just made a major flight control upgrade to my experimental and looking forward to flight testing it and flying out for this fly in.

As for the other saddle, I have looked at that one for a very long time. Betting its a first! You should name it! The 35" cub guys will have a ball up there! Did you see the old rock fence that runs the ridge to the right? Have always wanted more beta about it.

Kevin,
Didn't notice the rock wall, guess I didn't notice all the big rocks prior to landing either so not sayin much..
Going to miss all the fun this year due to a Utah hunt.

Fly safe.

PS. I heard Obama might show up =D>

Looks like it's a go. 5 planes for sure that are going. 2 more are still undecided.
Some of us are planning to get over the Sierra's early Fri.

Hey everyone,

Bryan and Kevin requested that I upload this file so that everyone can access it. It is a file that you can open in Googel Earth that shows the landing sites that they have discovered in the area of the flyin. It is color coded. Green = easy, Blue = intermediate, and Black means hard. Make sure to click on the airplane icon to read their notes for more information on the landing site.

As always, each pilot is responsible for his or her own actions and you use this information at your own risk. Each person should consider their own skill level, level of proficiency, and the ability of their aircraft. It's also up to each pilot to fly over the landing site and make their own assessment and to decide if they can safely operate their aircraft from the landing site.

Here is also some of the same information in a word document.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/q3x0u47kutj8i42/High%20Siera%20Flying%20-%20East%20Circuit%20Landings.doc?dl=0

If you have any questions on the strips, ask Kevin or Bryan.

Really looking forward to seeing everyone and having a great time. Weather is looking perfect!

Cory, thanks for posting this. I don't meant to one-up you but I took the liberty of making it a little more friendly to access.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

No problem Zane. Glad you could make it easier for everyone. I try to help when I can, but know there are many with more computer skills than I!

No problem Gary. It has a lot on there, but not all that are on the map.

Will there be rebar or ties there? At BM the regular stakes pull out of the sand.

Anyone flying out of the Fresno area? I am flexible on departure times.

We have a new user on BCP, Aviatrix75, who will probably be attending. She is a deaf, so it's a good reminder that the radio isn't the complete solution for traffic avoidance. Keep eyes peeled!

Yay, a female! 8)

Re: HSF - Oct 10-12, 2014 **KCXP FUEL DISCOUNT! UPDATED 9/30

Nicole is a great gal and very competent pilot.

I have asked her however to not just arrive unless she has a passenger for radio if she is arriving mid day. She is aware of traffic patterns and the lake bed. As you say Z however, dont always just rely on your radio.

We will have someone on the radio all the time at the lake bed for traffic and advisories.

Sweet! I had a sister that was deaf and I've been known to bust out a little basic ASL myself from time to time! Unfortunately I'm not planning to make the fly-in but I love the diversity of this group!
