The runway is right at 1300' or so with terrain rising very slightly to the east and then dropping off.. We have always landed to the east. There is also about 200 feet of over-run but know-one has ever needed it. The 2-3 foot berm at the west end is marked and the runway itself is also marked with orange cones. You will see the little berm on approach as its marked and lit up. The threshold is about 20' or so beyond the berm giving you a full length to the runway we use. I normally touch down 100' or so past the berm with ample room to stop and maneuver. This years parking and event will be down at the east end so your roll out will take you down to were you need to be eliminating a lot of extra back taxing. When departing you will have plenty of taxi time to warm up and then run up at the departure end. Trying to remember the 5 "P's" this year...Prior planning prevents a poor performance...
I know Bryan is working on a pilot brief like the one above from last year. Please notice traffic freqs, patterns, parking areas etc. We will also have someone on the ground with a radio at all times. I was just out there the other day and the lake bed is in great shape.
Here is a doc that I have posted around in a few places.
Feel free to PM me with any additional questions, info etc. Remember this is a camping event and we are 2 weeks earlier this year. October is cooler than that of summer but it can still be warm. Mid 60's to mid 70's is realistic. Nights can get chilly but not freezing however two years ago we had a frost over night. It makes for great flying conditions.
