That shaky Jake installation looks good, but it seems to me that it wouldn't cool worth a darn without some sort of fan. Radial engines were used in both helicopters (Sikorsky H34 Choctaw) & tanks, but I'm assuming both had some sort of cooling fan arrangement?

This has got to be one of the most unique radial powered choppers. Twin m14p. It even plays a tune on light up... or smoke up.

And its fitted with smoke:)

I just did some research on that very helo a few days ago. I guess they make a single and dual turbine version as well because the dual M13P's run at 95% power for almost all operations.

That startup tune WAAS pretty neat.

Need to fly to Madras tomorrow to get ready for Arctic air moving in. This wind will make for some interesting taxiing/landing.

Windy with lots of sunshine. High 43F. E winds at 25 to 40 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 60 mph.

It's been windy for sure. Not so much today but looks like a wild ride tomorrow! Wish I could be there to film it

I flew up there on Friday and went through the museum (which is awesome by the way) and when I arrived back in Prineville there was one of the Hillsboro Aviation students that you speak of on the radio. Couldn't understand a single word he said and had no clue where he was! They certainly have helped me improve my visual scan! Turns out he was in Madras setting up for a landing on his first solo. I got to talk to his instructor on the ground.

It is a bit on the windy side here. On my way back from Madras today we saw ground speeds of 190MPH Landing ground speed 20MPH No Chinese in the pattern. Nobody else either. Just a retarded Maule pilot.
