I got my overhauled cylinder back. New 321 stainless steel flame tube and end caps for exhaust have been TIG welded in. I TIG welded the drain nipple back on the air box. As soon as the oil cooler gets back from overhaul I'm back in the sky. I don't weld as much as I used to, but I still can.

Last week was our annual spring break road trip. This year we did Zion NP, Vegas, and Palm Desert. Met up with Cal in Utah, M7flyer and Zenitnguy in SOCAL. We took the camper on the truck. 80 mph legally across Idaho and Utah. Pretty fun. Here are a few pics.

Thursday was a great day. Ken AKA waterboy, with his wife and son flew in from Hood River. Chris AKA 65180H and friend Jeff flew up from Corvallis. We all went to Doryland Pizza and did our best to devour two large pies. That didn't work so we all had left overs for snacking. I had my employee so he got after mowing the grass, spraying and weed whacking. I took the tractor and mowed some grass at the airport.
I hope more of you come visit as we are getting into the good wx time of year.

Saturday April 2 we took a load of finish lumber to Pacific City. The weather was so nice. Got lunch at the Sportsman Pub, painted trim, and went for a Jeep rip before driving the 120 miles back to the valley. Headed back Monday to finish painting.

Rob, I'm curious which route you take when driving from the Portlandia area out to Pacific City?
Looks like hwy 18 down through McMinnville to Lincoln City then north to PC might be quicker than going to Tillamook via hwy 6/8 then south to PC?

Hey Eric I really like going south to SALEM and then west. The north route is not as easy of a drive. The 130 road is really scenic as it runs right next to the Nestucca river.

Here at Pacific City doing painting on finish trim. Watching one of my favorite movies, 16R. Love this movie.

You should have been on the painting crew today!! Lunch on the boss.

Hey Jeremy: that is from Tims aircraft. The actual builder is custom aircraft parts in El Cajon California. The flame tube was pretty distorted as you could see in the picture but it was not anywhere near coming apart. The Maule design is just not that good. I run my mixture very rich also. I am burning about 14 gallons an hour which puts me at about 150° ROP. If I am flying high over 8000 feet I can get the fuel burn down to about 12 1/2 gallons an hour still 150° ROP
