I'll be there the whole week, but flying commercial. I'll be in either the Boeing Flight Services or Jeppesen tents.

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

I'll be heading west from NY. I am trying to finish hanging my new -18 on my -12's floats. We should be there by the end of next week. Plan is to fly to the seaplane base and camp there. Also will have another plane full of interns I've been teaching to from the local university. The each have about 15 hours and if they aren't hooked yet will be after OSH.

For those coming from the SW, I will buy you lunch at the Hanger Cafe at Kingsley Field four miles west of Miller, Missouri. Kiman has mogas and 100LL and JP-4 (no prist for crop dusters.) 1/2 mile grass strip.

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

My hometown airport is offering $3.99 100LL for those taking the northern route.

KRRL is 100 miles northwest of OSH. Camping, fuel, shower, etc.

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

I'll head out either Friday the 17th or Saturday the 18th. With the military activity that's taking place this year, I'll fly my "southern" route, Greeley-Grand Island-Dubuque-Oshkosh. My "northern" route, Greeley-Luverne-LaCrosse-Oshkosh, is maybe 3 minutes quicker, but it would take me into all that military activity, which I totally avoid on the "southern" route. Then I'll be there all week, most likely staying in the North 40.

As always, I'm looking forward to it. I have several friends I see only during OSH, and that's always fun. I love the night airshows, and I've enjoyed the walk-in movies and evening concerts. I understand Gary Senise's "Lt. Dan Band" will be there again, and his music covers everything from WWII to the present--something for everyone. And of course, there's new friends to meet in the camping areas, or at the various eateries, or along the way to and from. All good fun.

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

This Oshkosh will be our 34th year in a row in an airplane we built! Plan to be there on Sunday, July 19. We will be in Homebuilt Camping. I will be volunteering in Homebuilt Camping Campground Host building again this year. Stop by for a cool drink and visit.

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

We're a 70% go in the 170 this year.

Been talking about it all year but the dates kinda snuck up on us.
If we do, we'll fly in Saturday and leave Tuesday or so. A solid week of camping and airplanes puts a strain on the marriage.

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

I'm definitely thinking about it. Been twice before not overly crazy about the crowds and their crappy weather this time of year. But it could be a good time.

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

Last year, we flew in on Saturday and were the only plane in the pattern!
I think Sunday is the coolest day cuz there is no one there and you get to see everything easier while they set up.
Monday is the first full day with crowds building.
Tuesday was jammed with humans and we took off Wednesday.

But Sunday was the best IMO
