I have an annual beer, pizza & brats party to attend on Tuesday, but don't let that stop everyone else.

I had no idea people like you existed and now I've learned of two in as many days. lol!

My midwestern sweet corn yesterday was delicious and I was glad to eat the extra piece my friend didn't want. :-)

Wait......What?

I know, right?

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

There is a strong contingent of BCPers that will be in the Vintage area. Come by and see us!

New Holstein is Wednesday night.

Maybe we can connect on Tuesday. Othewise see you there! Black and White Skywagon will be in a holding pattern... 8)

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

I will be somewhere in Vintage as well, hopefully I get a good spot. Probably arriving on Sunday afternoon, then over to New Holstein Wednesday.
FYI, fuel is down to $4.32 at KEFT (Monroe, WI) which is just a bit south of Madison. A good place to pick up fuel before heading into Oshkosh.

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

I am in envy of you guys that are going this year. I don't think I have missed a year or two in over 25 years. Unfortunately this year is a year I will be missing. :(
I'm still baffled that someone doesn't like sweet corn....I think you better get checked...something just isn't right! ;)

You're not the first to think I am nuts--but usually it doesn't have anything to do with sweet corn. :)

Lots of changes in 22 years. Be sure to download and print the NOTAM--lots of good info in it, and it's mandatory. It can be downloaded to an iPad, also, but having both in print and downloaded is a good idea. https://www.eaa.org/~/media/files/airve ... 3-2015.pdf

Thanks for the reminder Cary. I've been meaning to download that.

Cary wrote:I'll head out either Friday the 17th or Saturday the 18th. With the military activity that's taking place this year, I'll fly my "southern" route, Greeley-Grand Island-Dubuque-Oshkosh. My "northern" route, Greeley-Luverne-LaCrosse-Oshkosh, is maybe 3 minutes quicker, but it would take me into all that military activity, which I totally avoid on the "southern" route. Then I'll be there all week, most likely staying in the North 40.

As always, I'm looking forward to it. I have several friends I see only during OSH, and that's always fun. I love the night airshows, and I've enjoyed the walk-in movies and evening concerts. I understand Gary Senise's "Lt. Dan Band" will be there again, and his music covers everything from WWII to the present--something for everyone. And of course, there's new friends to meet in the camping areas, or at the various eateries, or along the way to and from. All good fun.

We'll be going KFNL(Foco-Love) -> KMCW(Mason City) -> OSH (gotta love the extended tanks on our rented Arrow)

We'll keep an eye out for the colorado flag and stop on by!

Return trip is OSH -> KOFK (Norfolk Regional) - KFNL - KBJC (Return the plane)

Re: Who is going to Oshkosh?

My Wife is from New Lisbon and have lots of shirt tail relitives to stay with if I went (which I'm not) here's some tips How you know you might be from Wisconsin? Got this from another Website I look at

If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 18 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you're proud that your region makes the national news 96 nights each year because International Falls is the coldest spot in the nation, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you have ever refused to buy something because it's "too spendy", you might live in Wisconsin.

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from November through March, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you instinctively walk like a penguin for five months out of the year, you might live in Wisconsin.

If someone in a store offers you assistance, and they don't work there, you might live in Wisconsin.

If your dad's suntan stops at a line curving around the middle of his forehead, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you may not have actually eaten it, but you have heard of Lutefisk, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you have worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you have either a pet or a child named "Brett", you might live in Wisconsin.

If your town has an equal number of bars and churches, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you have had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you know how to say Oconomowoc, Waukesha , Menomonie & Manitowoc, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you think that ketchup is a little too spicy, you might live in Wisconsin.

If every time you see moonlight on a lake, you think of a dancing bear, and you sing gently, "From the land of sky-blue waters, you might live in Wisconsin.

If you think the seasons of the year are Swat and Shovel, you might live in Wisconsin.

Just make sure you arrive in the OSH area with plenty of fuel. Depending on the day and time, you may go directly in on the RIPON-FISKE route, or you may be held at one of the lakes. One year, my buddy and I went around Green Lake for about 45 minutes, and I was very glad that I always fill up at either Dubuque or LaCrosse, depending on which route I take. Each of them is about an hour out.
