Is there a rough head count? Just curious, you know my agoraphobia and all.

There's a chance I may be able to make it. We'll see?? Maybe with the Citabria?? Maybe not??

Re: UPdate: PNW Season Opener -- Powers Fly In 7 June 2014

The group is like 15 airplanes I think...at least that's what the poll shows!

Got a couple other questions!

Is there any airports nearby that has a cool hike? I found a hike at Cape Blanco so far, wondering if there is more???

Also does anyone know which airstrips in the area have showers? If we hike we probably will want to shower after....and y'all don't want us to stink! :-&

Cape Blanco is at Cape Blanco State Park, so plenty of hiking opportunities there. There is a trail right off the approach end of 14.

Not sure about showers, but I know Tom in Powers would get you set up with one somehow.

I doubt I'll be able to make it but, I really hope I can, at the least just for a day.

The Coquille river is clean and has some good swimming holes. 8) Might be a tad chilly this early in the year.

Bryan you and your fiance are more than welcome to shower (goes for everyone) at our place. Our house is less than 5 minutes from the Grants Pass (3S8) airport.

There is a GREAT pancake breakfast and festivities at Illinois Valley airport on Saturday morning. Including a 5k and 10k run starting and finishing at the airport. I am planning on heading there for the run.

Looks like I will be able to come for Friday night. 8)

Too bad though it looks like Tom will be out of town.

Whoops, I meant Floras Lake State Park is off the approach end of 14. No services where you'd park, but there is access to hiking trails right there where you could hike out to Blacklock Point and the beach, and then about 2-2.5 miles Floras Lake.

Re: UPdate: PNW Season Opener -- Powers Fly In 7 June 2014

Hey Guys,
I'm not going to be able to make it as I had a motorcycle ride planned for this weekend, going to be on the other side of the state.

I sent a text out to my buddy Tom who brought in the porta potty for the last weekend we got together out there. It should still be there, I'll advise if not.

The river is close for swimming/bathing/filtering water, but no running water.

I prefer to camp on the South end, and that is where the potty is. Airplanes can park/camp on the west side of the runway after the east side fills up down there.........

Somebody give Linda a call at Lucas and set up breakfast if that is what you guys want to do. 541-247-7443

Have a good time, looking forward to hearing about it.

Brent

We're gonna pay for this tailwind on the way home. Thinking about flying the coast down the whole way this evening.
