Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Where did you fly today?

Flew to PDX to pick up a friend, did a house dig out, and an evening flight to central Oregon.

I went for a nice flight this evening, possibly the last one before leaving Cheyenne.

Nice pic, Rob!! You're gonna love the horsepower upgrade you get by moving back to sea level.

I know I can't wait! I felt like I was flying rocket ships when I was flying my Dad's planes in Vancouver back in March

Being a good neighbor and baby trees

Perfect morning, not a ripple. Grabbed the camera; lit the fire and started snapping photos of the neighbors, the resort across the lake, hunting camps; whatever. I slip a few of these 8.5X11's in these folks mailboxes as a way to say thank-you. The last time I heard about someone bitching about airplane noise a few non aviation locals came to my aid and explained to them the finer dynamics between a Ranger Bass boat running across the lake with the prop out of the water and a Scout puttering along at 2250. It was a great day soar and be free!

Did some scud on my way from Troutdale Oregon to Aurora Oregon, home of Pacific Coast Avionics. Got my IFR Pitot Static 24 month cert out of the way. KTTD was reporting 1600 OVC but the top of the 1200' hills had clouds. Aurora was reporting 7500 OVC but I was almost in it at 1500' I thought boy my altimeter must really need to be adjusted. Turns out the altimeter was right on. Go figure :D

Flew from Anchorage to Valdez for annual STOL competion, then down to Hook Point Beach for "Breakfast on the Beach". Photo shows half the planes on the beach with my 170B (Blue/white 2575D) in the mix. It is a big beach! This must be tame compared to a carrier landing but it was interesting getting sorted out, landing and clearing the beach for the next guy to land.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Had the in-laws in town, so I had to escape. I figured I'd take a few photos of the flooding in the area (Memphis) -- the river is supposed to crest tonight. (this is my first attempt at a trip report and uploading photos, so I'll apologize now for screwing it up!)

More of Tunica, MS (a bunch of wet casinos)

That area in the center of the photo where all the water is used to be Dewitt Spain Airport -- word has it that all but 2 airplanes made it out before the waters.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Another beautiful day in Southern Oregon. I flew along the Rogue River to Powers, where I found some tasty wild strawberries. I continued out over the coast to Cape Blanco. On the way home I dropped by to visit Brian and Steve at Beagle, where 180driver's 180 was getting its annual. Just a nice little tour around the local area.

I'm in the middle of Denali National Park- identifier 5Z5. I sure like Whitehorse, but no plans to go anywhere anytime soon- it's about to get really busy around here for the next 120 days or so.

Re: Where did you fly today?

There I go reading after work instead of in the morning once I have had my coffee.

The way I read it had me thinking the distance between trees on both sides was 35 feet, as in Z86
