Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Start a thread in the fuel forum, because this topic will clutter up our precious trip report thread.

Thanks.

Made it out to Hesperia to the Mile High cafe for breakfast (Fuel 5.58/gal) Good food and plenty of it.

I wonder what the neighbors have it their yard?

Then we took a little trip to check out the Bacon Strip Ranch, Looks like a good place for a fly-in Plenty of parking space and good fire pit
and camping space.

Rare day in Utah..... At least my part of Utah. First Maule I've rode in that I did not own, happened to be an amphip. Did a couple landings at DA of 5600.

Got to left-seat a C-185 today. I first rode in one going into the Alaska Range as a climber some 14 years ago. Today I piloted one into the Alaska Range. Sort of a full-circle milestone :D

Man, Knik was awesome for just a few hours earlier. Long enough to do my first gravel off airport anyway.

Congrats! Isn't it so much fun to land on a gravel runway in the mountains eh... Do it again...and again...and again... and dont forget to put good protection on your rear stab.

I haven't flown in a while, waiting for UND to send my logbook and certificate back to me.

Finally got my plane back in the air; still tweaking the rigging, but working out all the other squawks one at a time.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Denali - how was the wind aloft tonight? It's been choppy every time I get up so I skipped out tonight and grilled up some salmon instead.

Please tell me I made the right choice. I am going to be peeved if I missed out on practice time.

907- I don't know about Anchorage, but here on the north side of the big hill it was sublime. Didn't calm down until late, though.

Re: Where did you fly today?

I just flew to anchorage, but I don't think it counts since it was on an airline :) I keep watching the "real" planes up here and it makes me jealous that I'm not on them.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Had a great weekend flying in to the White Mountains with a 185 on floats. The water was high and I worked on the cabins for the upcoming hunting season. The weather was great. Snow is almost gone so the gravel bars will be cleared to land on. The water was high and dark so did not get to do any fishing. What a great time spent with friends...

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew Lake Hood to Willow for breakfast... is the cinnamon roll place I hear about the espresso stand on the highway north of the airport? They only take cash so I couldn't even try one for myself.

Nothing special, just got the wings back on and got a few hours patch flying around Mack Mesa.

Put in 1.2 to an off dirt strip for coffee (google Braburn or cinnamon bun strip in the Yukon)... came back at 23:58 and plenty of light to land w/o airport lights... gotta luv summer north of 55!

Re: Where did you fly today?

This might not count because I did not fly it myself, but I was able to catch a free ride on Wings Airways at the Juneau Waterfront today. The tour went down the Gastenau Channel, up the Taku Inlet, and over the Juneau Icefields.
