Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Where did you fly today?

Beautiful day in the PNW yesterday. DCO-65 and I got after it within our little 25 mile radius. Name that strip: (big version)

Dude, beautiful shot but hard to believe that's what you're seeing compared to what I'm seeing!! A grass strip would be a nice change from gravel, rocks and Ice! BCT

Re: Where did you fly today?

Finally got back in the air, yesterday did 3 T&Gs then today did my bi-annual, must have passed 'cause he offered me a job!

Now I can do some fun flying again instead of just looking at all the nice pics from you lightweights in the south.

As soon as it greens up a little I will try to get some pics to post. :D

Did some more flying in Logan today, and while I was out there this old L-29 was getting ready to take off. This guy recently bought it and was flying it from Florida to Washington. It was set up to run on bio-fuel, but I don't think it ever had a lot of time running it.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew to La Grande Oregon over to the weekend. My wife's furthest flight so far is 38 min from home, she made it 2 hrs this trip and did pretty good!
Plenty of snow still in the Cascades.
Mt. Jefferson

I took a friend into Minam drainage to look over Minam Lodge and Reds Horse Ranch. Bad idea, the winds kicked our ass. I can now say I know why to stay out of the mountians when the winds are up and Cessna wings are strong.
Herds of elk on both runways.
The only pic I was able to take.

Counted a conservative 590 head of elk, 2 coyotes, a band of sheep and not so many mule deer on the way home.

Zane, Whats with the 25 mile radius? Rental limits on distance?
Seems like a pretty short leash but you seem to be finding some sweet grass to land on.

Nothing really, just my loosely self-imposed reminder to do more takeoffs, landings, and fun stuff rather that spend time going in a straight line. I'm good at going in a straight line, I don't really feel like paying for that. Plus renting is just a PITA, there's always someone else on the schedule.

Quick trip behind the house over the Kaskawalsh glacier in Kluane/St-Elias National Park to go see Canada's highest, Mt-Logan (16,545'), took off at 8pm back by 11pm with a stop at Silver City on Kluane Lake.

sorry for the poor quality.

No flying, but Hicountry and I met today in Castle Rock to say goodbye, but hopefully just until JC or something. I'm going to miss the Colorado / Nebraska / Wyoming gang!

Nice clear day but very bumpy.
