Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Grand Canyon Valle fly-in is always a good one.

Hey sweet shocks Simko. I got to ride in Patrol Guy's back seat when he spied the pretty ladie's panties. I snapped this rare photo.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew into Copalis on the 20th when the fog surprisingly cleared.

The beach has eroded from last year and the normal touch down area and parking in front of the wind sock are REALLY soft.

There are exposed tide puddles and a new rock about 200 meters from the river for those going there.

BTW, pardon the logo in the center, I was using evaluation software to create the movie.

Ventured out to Kevin's North Truckee Circuit on my own today. A few landings and a few passes. Didn't break anything =D>

Here's proof at the Bumpy Barn 2.

Yes CG, without that big muffler we'll never be able to identify you from every other plane.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Nice cool day to fly today.

Hitched a ride in a C185 to fly over and picked up my plane at Kelly. From there Nate and I took the long way home stopping by a few fields. It was a nice day to waste a afternoon flying. 8)

Re: Where did you fly today?

Been getting a lot of flying in this week. Hunting season is upon us. Been flying in the Alaska Range looking for wild life. Flew in to the White Mountains what is North of Fairbanks. Great flight. I picked up 2.5 acres of land on a airstrip. 31AK is the identifier. Hope to sell my hangar in North Pole and start to build next summer. Late night flying is great. Overcast and rain but for the most part great flying still. Will fly tomorrow again.
Happy flying and please be safe...

Sept 6, 11
Troutdale to Hood River where I met up with Scottnt. He flys a Super Cub and a V35 Bo.

The forest fire by Mt Hood was heating up and they had a heli attack base set up.

We headed SE to Horse Shoe dirt strip on the Deschutes River. Nice place. Scott fished and I went for a hike.

On the way back I shot some video. I got some good shots. Video tomorrow.

Sept 7, 11
Troutdale to Pacific City with my daughter and her boy friend for lunch at the Pelican Pub. The wx was perfect, no wind 63*

Back at Troutdale put new brake lining on in 93* heat. I got every bit out of the old ones.

Cheers...Rob

Re: Where did you fly today?

Looks like a fun spot Buzz! I really need to come down there.

Went to the reservoir today and did a bit of water work. This piece is just now coming into play but you still need to drag the water a bit on takeoff or approach depending on the wind direction.

Re: Where did you fly today?

UtahMaule stopped by today and we went and pounded some of the gravel bars on the Snake. Here we are letting our birds cool off a bit.Image I kept landing shorter and rougher bars, trying to ditch him, but damn he was right there every time I turned around! He really knows how to handle that Maule, but I finally found a few I had to myself...considering the Maule weighs about 1,000 lbs MORE then the Rans, he had a passenger, is bigger himself, had more fuel onboard etc. etc. the Maule sure looked impressive. Not to mention we started out by him landing my 400' strip with room to spare. I think I may have used less fuel today though  Image
