Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Actually Friday,

My wife & I flew over to VT Friday afternoon/evening and on the way home just before sunset she got these photos. Quality isn't the best, but with the haze (Fires in Manitoba?) she got some good relief.

We are coming out of the Champlain Valley heading home.

She really likes the way water is interconnected through the mountains. This is one of hundreds of little linked ponds near us.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew out to do some work on a customer's plane the other morning. On my way home I was hoping to stop and run John Deeres new X9 demo, but the salesmen weren't out at the field yet. So I just pulled up for a photo op then headed home to combine peas. Got a decent picture out of the deal!Image

Re: Where did you fly today?

The son and I just flew from Park Rapids, MN to Grants Pass, Oregon in the 172. Flew up close to the Candian border, then down to Sandpoint Idaho. From there to Hermiston,OR and to Aurora Oregon. Was wanting to go visit VANS aircraft but the smoke conditions were supposed to be getting worse. Departed early to make it to GP in VFR conditions.
The smoke started to get bad between the Montana/Idaho border and persisted all the way to Grants Pass. Sure limited the scenic opportunities of the flight.

Definitely smoky this weekend. I flew up to W10 on Whidbey Island on Friday afternoon to see my parents for their 40th Wedding Anniversary. Cruised lower than I wanted just because forward visibility dropped the higher I went. Flight home Saturday to KUAO was better but still smoky. Seems to have cleared yesterday.

At a glance I thought you had a rear door removed. That is an impressive window.

Did a 1.2 this weekend and he loved it. He did a great job, though he did succumb to the snooze monster before the end. 10/10, will do again as soon as we can!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Borrowed a 206 and went up in the mountains looking for a crashed B25 from the 50's, and it's scattered bullion of pillaged nazi gold. Didn't find any.
