Idaho is fine for open carry. Visit idahoopencarry.org for legal mumbo jumbo.

This is a pretty good site to see where a CCW is honored. Click on your state, see where else you can carry legally.

Was surprised to find that California doesn't honor anyone else's CCW. I thought my instructor told me different. Equally surprised to find out how many states honor California's CCW.

If we get some interest I'll post more and bio on the instructor. But suffice it to say, if you know Wally Brown, you know he's the real deal.

Re: BCP Annual Fly-In 27-29 June 2014 @Garden Valley, ID

This might not be very popular, but with the number of people who end up at this fly-in, I will be the one to take the heat for saying it.

Keep in mind that I'm a lifelong shooter, but I'm also a lifelong napper and relaxer. It might be nice to put some hours on the shooting sessions. Unlike airplane engines, which I can listen to non-stop, I like to kick back and relax without the sound of gunfire blazing non-stop. I realize it's a public range, but I imagine we'll be the ones using it most that weekend. Consideration goes a long way for making an enjoyable weekend for all.

To quote my buddy Grant: "As far as I know, this is still America and it's Saturday. What's the problem?"

I'll agree with Zane above. I don't have a problem with guns but it shouldn't morph into the main focus of an event. This is a fly-in and most people want to show up for peace, quiet and relaxation.
Now if we want to talk about a beer tasting event.........!!!!!!! :D

Re: BCP Annual Fly-In 27-29 June 2014 @Garden Valley, ID

good point...! dont worry too much about quiet, as that really isnt too quiet of an airport anyway...on a fairly well-traveled hiway....but on a brighter note, it is a really simple approach/departure and a lot more docile...seen some bigger stuff there...pilatus, 340's, almost everything...should be safer that last year for sure...!

Re: BCP Annual Fly-In 27-29 June 2014 @Garden Valley, ID

Hello guys. New member here. Hope to see you in Garden Valley. That is one of my "home" bases. In fact, the very first video in this thread is my video taking off from Garden Valley and going to our little private strip in Cascade. (thanks for posting) Yes, I fly a bonanza. I have to haul a bunch of crap for business and those doors on the A36 make it easy. We've taken her into the usual haunts like Johnson Creek but one of our favorite spots is Schaffer Meadows in Montana.

If I can help with local knowledge, let me know. Lot to do in that neck of the woods.

Re: BCP Annual Fly-In 27-29 June 2014 @Garden Valley, ID

BCP event so obviously people have been following the thread and know what's there and it isn't the wilderness. If folks don't like gun noise then camp somewhere else. There is a public range there after all. It's kind of like moving into a house on the departure end of Seatac and then complaining about jet noise.
