That might have to be a around the campfire show and tell. Barrick has a strict "no cameras" "no picture" policy.

Sorry for the late reply, RW2! But at our mine at Bald Mountain, we run the smaller 150 and 190 ton CATs (I think the 785's). We have the older Komatsu 830 and about 20 newer 830's (300 ton trucks)

I'll post in the Truckers Threads so this thread won't get too polluted

Edit: Here's the link for the Trucker Thread and picture of the Komatsu 830 on the bottom of the page....... http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/truckers-thread-retired-present-future-11347?start=120

Bump!

My wife and I were looking at the white water rafting trips available at the GV fly-in and thinking we might like to do one of the Swirley Canyon 1/2 day trips. Is anyone else planning to do one of these?

You want some whitewater or just a flat water float? Swirly canyon is almost all flat. If you want some fun I'd to the Main Payette if you want even more fun do the Staircase section. Idaho Whitewater Unlimited is based out of GV and I image you could arrange a pickup at the airport. I was hoping to go and bring my raft but I need to realize this fly-in is always on my wife's birthday weekend so I'll probably never make it again.

Hehehe - if it was up to me, I'd do the Staircase on Friday and The Canyon on Saturday... but it's not up to me :(

Paying bills, buying avgas and camping gear - that's the stuff I get to do!

I know this is for the supercub.org fly-in at Johnson Creek, but just about everything relates to this fly-in as well. Thanks Greg for putting this together, very informative!

Ha! Well anytime on the river is a good time! The canyon is a blast and so is the staircase.

Re: BCP Annual Fly-In 27-29 June 2014 @Garden Valley, ID

If you are a good enough pilot to know that you want a few hours with an instructor before flying into many of the mountain strips in Idaho, you are easily on the right track.

It isn't required by any stretch, but it will make your visits really relaxed and fun earning that experience and confidence ahead of time with a guide.

Some don't take advantage of this, and a couple of them have mentioned to me they wish they had done so.

The Garden Valley, ID fly-in is right around the corner!

Is anyone interested in a 2014 BCP Fly-In tshirt for Garden Valley? If there's interest, I'll have one made, if not, then... well...

Either way, reply if you're interested with number of shirts and size (and any design ideas).. Then I'll get a quote.. They'll be sold at cost.

I'm a T-shirt ho... if they are available, I'll buy one. XXL.

Suggested tagline...

Garden Valley: The 'other' Johnson Creek.

Do most people arrive Friday to this event? Or do some straggle in Saturday and only spend one night?
