Photo Thread: Float Flying

I would like to start a thread as a place to share any cool float plane pictures from this summer. I know there are a bunch of guys on here flying floats and I think this would be a great spot to share a few pictures. I will have much better photos as the summer goes on but for now I will start with a photo of my 1968 bare bone stock 172 sitting at the dock at our seaplane base.

This isn't my plane but I got to fly it some when I befriended a guy that flys out to the oil rigs south of New Orleans. This picture was taken about a mile north of where the main channel of the Mississippi river ends.

Not mine either, but this is a friend's 185 that I've got some dual time in. This is at his fly-in cabin West of Fairbanks.

Why do all the AK photos have gray sky?

The Batplane on an un-named lake near the Alagnak/Branch river out west.

Trying to keep itself from looking too glorious to outsiders to keep the population density down, haha

Steve,

I can't believe you left your dog on the dock and didn't take her with you!

G44, that puppy is always ready for a ride, but he had to stay home this time.

David, I display that number proudly, it came at quite a price. Upside was the cost of float insurance is a lot less with the C number than the N, don't know why, but no complaints

Here is a take off from the river in front of my place. This was about 9:00 am, 80 degrees outside air temp and calm wind.

This weekend we decided to fly up to Hard Scrabble point on Moosehead lake to hike Mt. Kineo.
