SInce the discussion was on Bears several posts back. This guy was in the yard a few days ago.

Lucky to have that yard! I do love bears. They're halfway between a swine and a human, which is a LOT more than I can say for many people...
I love 'em too! Half way between the salad and the mashed potatoes!
Do you actually eat them? I know some do, but it doesn't seem to be real common.
We sure do at our house. Great eating, especially in a nice farmer sausage. It's one meat the kids can't get enough of. I'm allowed two a year and I try to pick big ones so there will be more meat.
Incidentally on the handguns for bear defense topic, if this article is to be believed it seems it doesn't maybe matter so much what you carry as that you do carry something and at least get a shot off.
https://www.ammoland.com/2018/02/defens ... y-caliber/ I know my good buddy who has dealt with a few bears says it's not that you need to instantly drop a bear in its tracks, it's that you need to convince it you aren't easy prey, hurt it enough to change its mind. For myself I've never had to shoot a bear defensively, I've always been able to scare them away with just the noise of gunfire.
