Is there room for me to jump onto the Spring Utah bandwagon if I make a last minute decision to go? Or, is advance notice necessary?

Hey Alex, there is lots of room. Food is the only issue. Gary needed to plan for that. I'm sure he will reply to you about food. Lots of room.

I plan on heading over Thursday wx permitting. If you want to talk about going as a flight of 2 let me know.

Hope all is well with you. Cheers...Rob

As Rob said, plenty of room. Anytime I have been involved in something like this, ther are always alot of people that won't commit until the last minute, weather, maybe something better going on(what could be better than this  ), whatever reason, that's just the way it is. It makes things easier to have an idea how many will be there. There will also be some last minute cancellations :( .

So, come join the fun. You may have to eat out. I am planning on some extra, Rod probably is too. At this point, I don't expect to have anymore conversation with him before next week.

If the weather is good, I expect quite a few more. Even locally I know there are several planning on going that haven't even told me, go figure :? , maybe they want to surprise me  .

Anyways, time to start bein nice and get that good karma thing goin, and talk with the weather gods and tell them how good you'll be if they shine on ya next weekend.

I'll work on getting that good Karma thing going - especially with the wife (maybe I'll vacuum the house tomorrow.)

I will be there friday.
Sorry for the late notice I only discovered the site a few days ago.
The waiver form is in the mail. If it's not to late I'd like to get a large shirt and sign up for all the meals. Looks like a lot of good guys on the site looking forward to meeting some experienced Utah flyers.

Ha, I hear ya... Were definitely a pretty unpredictable bunch..

Ok, I put in a good word with the ol boy upstairs, for sunshine and calm winds, just like I did for the Austin fly-in last year... ha ha... That's probably why it rained like a tall cow pissin on a flat rock.. #-o

Now, only think left to do is stick up a bank to scare up some gas money, and were all set... :-$

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2 (April 30-May 2)

I was gettin ready to send off the release form just in case I was gonna make it then I realized I'm taking the civil service and physical exam on May 3 and 4th. I can't risk missing it so there is very little chance I'll make it. I was really looking forward to meeting and avoiding :P some of you guys.

Hey Coyote Ugly
I'm glad your going to be there, I recognise you from supercub.org, I'm a fan of your photo gallery, you do a lot of the type of flying I admire.
This fly-in is looking to be a lot of fun, I hope the weather holds.

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2 (April 30-May 2)

We (flight of two) will be leaving Friday morning, arriving around noon or so I would guess. As for strips, we'll be taking it pretty easy since I'll have the family with me. We are planning on flying down to Monument Valley Saturday morning, then maybe a scenic flight down to PGA and Escalante. Plan on leaving after breakfast on Sunday morning.

Hopefully the wx will cooperate and Monticello will have their self-service tanks topped off!

Gary, just one follow up question: Will there be potable water available? Just trying to plan on how much we need to haul in with us.

Thanks! We are really looking forward to this. :D

Getting over the divide might prove to be a challenge. I'll be keeping my eye of the forecast.

It's on the sectional 9co3 I think. It's called Hubbord, small portable t hanger midfield downriver side dirt/sand on a small mesa above the giant resort. Don't land on the pretty grass one. [-X

We were excited to heli in Silverton — until we saw the bird. Looking like something your stoner uncle built in the garage out of four Meccano sets, a fish tank, and an AMC Pacer, this helicopter seats a pilot plus two only, making it a tricky vehicle, logistics-wise, when your group has 8 people in it. Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2 (April 30-May 2)

I went to Caveman yesterday. Supercub folks were having a flyin there this weekend. I was there around noon, and 1 had made it to that point. Others were trying, but fighting weather.

I talked with Rod and decided to make the call on weather tues. Happy to hear other's thoughts, particularly from the ones that have committed with money.

We have the option of moving the flyin to the next weekend if it looks better.

On Tues. there will be an extended forecast through the following weekend. I know you can't put a lot of faith in it, but it maybe the best we have to work with.

If we go next weekend and anybody from the east side of the hill wants to leave early to cross it, they are welcome to stay at my place 'til we head over to Caveman.

It was nice over there this weekend. Spent the night in Moab at a custiom car/street rod show and a lot of cold beers :D =D> =D>

That's all for now folks
