Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew the Skywagon up North to Longmont, CO with some Super Cub friends to a Fly-In/Car Show. They had a pretty cool pancake dispenser/griddle. Pretty cool planes too!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Most definitely not my idea of fun flying but I flew all the way from South East Alaska to Georgia, it would have been a lot better if it hadn't been in a commercial cattle car.
Man I sure hate those commercial airports.

I didn't even get to fly the first leg from home to Juneau 'cause "Charlie" had a sick valve and I couldn't get the parts in time.

I will be back home to do some moose spotting soon though, it is just way too damn hot down here.

Any back country pilots around Fort Benning Ga.?? :?:

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew to Minden NE (0V3) on Friday afternoon for the antique airplane flyin. Toured Pioneer Village Museum (huge) until I couldn't walk any more. We were a 3 plane formation from SNY with a Fairchild PT-19, a Beach Sundowner, and my High Country. Got to see a lot of REAL nice older planes and meet some nice people. Flew home this afternoon and then took a ride in the PT-19. HC

Wednesday I have to fly from FAI to BDL in Connecticut. 3,000 miles one-way with my knees crammed under my chin. #-o

Me bad. For some reason I thought Coquille was down by Gold Beach. Won't happen again. There was a pic of your plane on the sand that looks kinda like Florence?? I got room in the plane if you want to come on the SW trip?

Cheers...Rob

Re: Where did you fly today?

Ya, Z was a bit confused as to my local for awhile and spread that rumor...... :D
I took my two year old daughter out in the buggy Tuesday at Horsefall, her first official buggy ride.

That stretch of dunes at florence that parallels the coast........it just looks like a runway and sometimes I can't help myself.
Your SW trip sounds like a lot of fun and I am hoping to get out that way sometime. Something about making a living is getting in my way

Oh, and to stay on track. I took the Pacer out this evening to look for wildlife

Re: Where did you fly today?

Yesterday: Flew from Searcy, Arkansas to Big Springs, Idaho in a little Kitfox. Won't ever do that again.

Today: Flew low and slow around the Island Park/Henry's Lake area in the sweet Idaho morning air.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Played hookie from work today and did a little mountain flying in the skywagon. Stopped at Leadville for $3.50/gallon fuel then on to Marble, CO for a little campsite scouting for next weekends fly-in. Beautiful mountain flying day. The skywagon kicks butt in the moutains, having second thoughts about selling it.

Re: Where did you fly today?

No pics- just a really nice flight east along the spine of the Alaska Range for about an hour, and home again after tending to some business. Autumn color on the tundra is pretty much at its peak right now. Glorious day- nearly unlimited vis in all directions from up at 10K. Sheep hanging out on the ridges along the route. Migrating cranes underneath us.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew the Pacer out to Powers with my Dad flying his Kitfox. There is a group camping out there this weekend flying ultralights and RC and they seemed to be having a good time.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Was lounging around at the airport watching college football with hangar mate (RV-8 owner) noticing how awesome the weather was. We decided to jump in my skywagon and fly out to Limon to look at some cows. Did a fly-by on mountainmatt's private strip but nobody was home. Overflew Bijou Bottom private strip where Steve and Pat waved us down so had to accept the offer. Landed on their 1800' grass strip and shot the breeze. Headed back to Meadowlake where Tadpole had my hangar door open for us. Sparked up old faitful and enjoyed some BBQ and AK Ambers while watching some more football. Life is good.

Went out with my boy and Zane as safety pilot. Shot 6 instrument approaches. RNAV 17 and 35 at KUAO RNAV 22 twice and ILS 22 twice at KMMV. We had lunch at the Evergreen Air Museum. What a great world class air museum.
