Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Ski fly in at Zorbaz on Little Sand Lake, near Park Rapids. Great weather and fourteen or fifteen airplanes, and some gooooood chile.

I’ve been looking to land at this spot for about a month, flying over it a half dozen times, measuring approach and departure etc. Conditions needed to be right, as most often the SW flow creates too much turbulence on approach from the east to allow a slow enough airspeed to be safe. Today the wind was almost calm and the Husky light, with only 10 gallons fuel - - only thing almost lacking was courage . . . at 9,450’, not a great place to smooch the pooch.

One less item on the bucket list . . . yeeehaaaaa!

Not a glacier but a decent snow covered flight over to Moab. Got to love those calm, cold, smooth flights over the desert.

Nothing to cool, but went out to test the new camera mount by flying low over the iced over Utah Lake. Gorgeous day, buttery smooth air.

Last Thursday I flew to Stephen Mn, and then to Thief River Falls, Mn on Friday. Didn't land at either airport. Headed back to Thief on Thursday...

Yesterday I flew up to Glendo with a friend and walked into town for lunch. The grass runway was still pretty damp and muddy in a few spots. Good thing it was a warm enough day to give the plane a good bath when we got back.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Grabbed Pacer and out to the coast we went. Cousin was in town from Spokane and we took advantage of the nice weather. Made a quick stop at WA01(Wirkkala Field) to see some friends. Very wet, when we landed it looked like we hit a muddy lake. Over to Ilwaco and dug a limit of razor clams and headed home. CAVU, little wind. Then back to SPB to give the plane a bath. Now time for beer, BBQ oysters and a clam fry.

I was out and about this morning around 9am and winds at 1500 ft were about 30ish kts out of the north. Little bumpity but not too bad. Icy roads too this morning...lots of cars in the ditch.

It was forcasted to be pretty bumpy especially at the coast, but Astoria was reporting only 10 knots when I got out there, winds aloft werent too bad either. Definently cold in drafty pacer.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Not real flying, but had fun anyway! I got my Flight Sim (FS2004) up and running again.

Did a flight from Caldwell to JC. Then JC to McCall (both in a 182). Then I did a IFR flight from McCall to Boise in a Beech Baron. Then, I did another IFR in a Learjet 45 from Boise to Portland.

Bumper just went on DEFCON RED!!

Please note that my entire body is a weapon . . . I may be old, slow, and weak, but I'm armed to the teeth and will not go without one hellofa fight. Surely there must be an alternative method of getting that P Ponk??

Re: Where did you fly today?

Last flight in my 150. I bought this plane to learn to fly and had some great adventures. Flew it from Chesapeake Bay, VA to Grants Pass, OR. 3,000 miles in a 150!

Already in the market. Currently flying a 182, but looking for either a 180 or a Maule.
