Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Flew down to check out the corn processing plant where I delivered 5000 bushels yesterday. It converts the corn into distillers grain that is high protein animal feed. Also, about 108,000,000 gallons per year of 110 octane liquid fuel is produced. :D

Re: Where did you fly today?

After a short XC from JFK-LAX, I grabbed a car and ran up to Santa Paula to meet up with another BCPer, Rfinkle. Since our family is going to have outgrown the C182 by the end of the year, I'm starting to do my research on possible planes that will haul us all around. Rich was kind enough to offer to let me get some time in his C205, so we met up for lunch and some flying. We flew out over the ocean and did some slow flight and some power on/off stalls before heading back for some landings. What a fun airplane and a great day hanging out at a great GA airport! Thanks again Rich!! I've said it before, but I'll say it again: We have a good group of people here and I'm thankful for the friends that I've made (thanks Zane).

Re: Where did you fly today?

I'm a new poster around here, just been lurking for the past year. I saw the photos of SZP and had to pipe up. I'm based at Galt Airport (10C) in Wonder Lake, IL, but recently spent a few weeks at SZP getting my tailwheel endorsement and going through Emergency Maneuver Training with Rich Stowell. Highly recommended. I also met a nice fella who's a Fish and Wildlife pilot up in AK. I'm half-way sold on the idea of moving up there and counting moose for a living. We'll see what happens..

Anyway, I thought I'd share a few pictures from my visit. Not exactly backcountry, but it sure was pretty.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Ok so I just found the forum and thanks to everyone's pictures I now have roughly 20 different trips planned to maybe 10 states. #-o Thanks
And so I though I would add a few pictures myself. they were taken earlier this year but since there is snow in the pictures and there is still tons of snow on the ground it's like they were taken today

Re: Where did you fly today?

No pics from yesterday (I was under the hood). Shoot the ILS 14 into KMFR and then the GPS-A back into 3S8. Actually had to file, but was under the hood most of the time.

Took a little flight around Crater Lake after work today. Felt good to get up in the air after a couple of weeks of crappy flying weather.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Had to make the regular flight from Troutdale, Oregon to Madras, Oregon to check my vacation home. Have not been there in 4 weeks. Got a new EGT probe and dropped off a oil sample for analise. On the way back got one of those nasty drops where everything on the floor hits the ceiling. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr The wind was calm going over. Not so on the way back.

Headed west into the Columbia River Gorge towards Troutdale.
