Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Dropped in to check out Mercey Hot Springs. Then flew over to Modesto KMOD to meet the family and some friends at Tom Hillier's hanger to check out his airplane collection. Then took a friend for a ride over the Sierra foothills. Was a perfect day for flying other than the visibility in the valley. It was great everywhere else.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Way too nice a day to spend inside. John and I took a flight over to Hidden Splendor. Perfect flying weather and the strip is in excellent shape. Hard to believe it is the middle of January.

Where did you fly today?

Flew from Iraan to Jacksboro and back, problem was it was in a stinking Duramax. Been a 1000 miles today and ain't even left Texas. My old 170 thinks I got a mistress, probably won't even let me in her. :(

1000 miles is a bunch of driving in a day mister. You must be sore. What's your name, how many fingers am I holding up, who's the vice president of El Salvador?

Re: Where did you fly today?

Got my tailwheel endorsement yesterday in Charlotte, North Carolina. I am on a temp assignment in East Tennessee so that is a long way away from my 182 in Idaho. I borrowed the super cub and flew a Decathlon. It was awesome and now I get the whole tail wheel thing =D> =D>

I am assuming you flew with Mikey Matthews out of Lake Norman Airpark. He did my tailwheel endorsement in the Deke. Awesome guy to fly with.

You are correct, I did fly with Mikey Mathews. He is a great pilot and great instructor, he taught me way more than just a tail wheel endorsement. He taught me how to safely push the aircraft to the edges of the envelope (safely) and then what to do if things go wrong. It was a ton of fun and I am going back for more :D :D
