We have a substantial fuel discount for the entire weekend at Carson airport (KCXP). Pump meters will be adjusted Thursday afternoon for us!

AKT

Which FBO is offering the discount? Thx

R

Hey Kevin, I think Rich was asking because there are a couple of FBOs that are listed as fuel vendors. I was wondering which one as well. Or is it a self serve station?

Thanks! See you Thursday!

Re: High Sierra Fly-in, INFO - 2014 - UPDATED 10/3

Kcxp (Carson) has the discounted fuel. They are just discounting the price at the self serve pump for the weekend.

Weather looks beautiful for us!!! Not too hot either...showing over night lows in the low 30's and daytime highs in the mid to high 60's...perfect flying weather!

Why are you not coming??? The entire west is going to be beautiful! We even have some surprises in store...

Re: High Sierra Fly-in, INFO - 2014 - UPDATED 10/3

Flew over to 3 Shot Gun Shells this afternoon to show another pilot the strip - did a touch and go. Strip is no problem, but there is a good size pond of standing water toward the east end of the lake, though not apparently taking anything away from the runway full length (note that I have 26 tires and took off again well before mid-field so this is not any sort of guarantee. There's a smaller puddle just south of the 24 (roughly) approach end. The east end water will likely dry up some between now and most of the arrivals, but I sure wouldn't taxi anywhere near the "pond" or, if it's gone by Thursday/Friday, the dark spot.

I'd rate the N - S runway as unusable for now.

There's a Chevron station less than a five minute walk from the ramp at Yerington (O43).

Do the gas stations still have any E-free left in NV, or did that dry up a long time ago?

We lost the two in downtown Minden a few years ago. Only one I know of is the Exon station on Hwy 207 heading west from Carson Valley, on the left just before reaching Lake Tahoe. Last I checked they sell it at a premium of some 60 cents more than alcohol polluted fuel, but I haven't checked in quite awhile.

Re: High Sierra Fly-in, INFO - 2014 - UPDATED 10/3

That Chevron station will work for me, E10 or not, I'll gladly burn E10 (regular no less) before I burn AVGAS. I'm bringing the bike and fuel hauler trailer  so that 5 minute walk will be a piece of cake. Thanks for that info Gump. This assumes I can go......still up in the air there, or not.

Beautiful morning here at 3SGS!!!

Cell is working this morning with Verizon!

I'm here waiting for you!!!

Fired up! Lunar eclipse last night and a big ole fire all by myself! Coyotes are howling and I'm off to set up the runway...

Weather is perfect. Little chilly last night...think it got down to the mid 30's.

No wind to speak of...

See you soon....

See you tomorrow morning Kevin. We'll be a flight of three (three that I know of) inbound from Oregon.
Any other Oregonians heading down the HSF tomorrow?
